Laserframe® Allseasons Green

Laserframe Allseasons Green is a structural and appearance grade timber, structurally graded to ensure it performs in load bearing applications and subject to strict aesthetic selection criteria. Laserframe Allseasons Green products are most often used as structural members such as joists, bearers, beams, rafters, and battens in outdoor applications such as decks, pergolas and verandas where both strength and appearance are important.

Laserframe Allseasons® Green H3 is treated with Light Organic Solvent Preservative (LOSP) containing Propiconazole and Tebuconazde organic fungicides and Permethrin insecticide for protection against borers, termite attack and moderate fungal decay in external applications in all parts of Australia. LOSP is an effective preservative formulation designed to provide lasting protection for wood products used in external above ground applications. The treatment is a non-water based formulation that is designed to reduce the uptake of water by the timber during construction. This improves stability by reducing the dimensional changes that would otherwise occur as water is absorbed and lost.

Laserframe Allseasons Green is deemed termite resistant under the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and AS3660.1: Termite Management - New Building Work. Coloured using green dye for ease of identification, lengths are also branded by way of an end tag or an inkjet stamp along the face or edge of the board.

Technical Notes

Intended Use

Laserframe Allseasons Green is a structurally graded treated timber intended for use in external applications. The majority of the Laserframe Allseasons Green range is treated to Hazard Level H3, making it suitable for outdoor above-ground applications. Laserframe Allseasons Green is approved for use in all areas of Australia.

It is most commonly used as structural members such as joists, bearers, beams, rafters and battens in outdoor structures like decks, pergolas and verandas.

  • H3 for use outdoors, above ground

Laserframe Allseasons Green is approved for use in all areas of Australia.

Identification

All Laserframe products have identification marks by way of an end tag or inkjet stamp along the face or edge of the board.

These marking include:

  • Structural grade
  • Time and date of production
  • Sawmill identification number
  • Australian Standard

For treated timber products these markings also include:

  • Registered treatment plant number
  • Preservative number
  • Hazard Class number

Laserframe Allseasons Green is coloured using a green dye.

Reseal Requirements

In any application where Laserframe Allseasons Green has been cut, notched, rebated or drilled the exposed area should be resealed with a suitable timber preservative such as  Protim Solignum XJ Clear Timber Protective to ensure the treatment envelope remains intact to provide the best long term protection.

Fixings & Fasteners

For normal applications all bolts, screws, nails, brackets, framing anchors and other fixings that will be in contact with preservative treated pine should be hot dipped galvanised. In harsh environments, such as those close to the sea, stainless steel or similar fixings should be used. While the treatment should not affect adhesives, we recommend checking with adhesive suppliers regarding their specific recommendations.

Safety

Gloves, dust masks and glasses should be worn at all times when working with timber.  Please refer to above Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for full details. Laserframe Allseasons Green can be handled with the same safety precautions as untreated timber.

Waste Disposal

Off-cuts are not classed as hazardous material and can be disposed of as normal landfill waste. Do not burn treated timbers. Please refer to Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) below for full details.

Finishes

Laserframe Allseasons Green has been treated to make it suitable for outdoor use. The treatment protects the timber from fungal decay and insect attack, but not from weathering (i.e. exposure to sun and rain). Weathering will cause the timber to turn a silver-grey colour and some surface checking and splitting may occur. The application and regular maintenance of coatings such as paints and stains will reduce weathering.

Whatever finish you use, always check the label of the finishing product and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

Paints

Paint offers the most protection and generally provides for the longest interval between recoats (up to 10 years).

Stains & Clear Coatings

Stains allow the grain and texture of the timber to be seen and can minimise the effects of UV light. However, staining will require recoats more often than painting.
