LASERframe TERMINATOR® Red

LASERframe TERMINATOR Red from Carter Holt Harvey is H2 structural pine framing which has been treated with permethrin LOSP. It provides protection from borers and termites in above ground, interior framing applications in high risk zones (i.e. north of the tropic of Capricorn).

It comes with a 25 year guarantee* against termite and borer attack and damage for complete peace of mind. TERMINATOR Red is treated using a full sapwood penetration treatment process to ensure total protection of the treatable zone.

TERMINATOR Red is ideal for frame and truss applications for residential or light commercial applications and is perfect for use in high risk areas.

Applications

TERMINATOR Red is suitable for wall frames, roof trusses and any other load bearing application where termite protection is required. TERMINATOR Red is ideal for use in high risk termite areas, i.e. north of the tropic of Capricorn.

Inside, above ground applications only. Can be used throughout Australia.

Australian Standards and Building Code of Australia Approval TERMINATOR Red framing is treated in accordance with:

• Australian Standard 1604.1 Specification for Preservative Treatment – Part 1: Sawn and round timber
• The NSW Timber Marketing Act (TMA)
• The Queensland Timber Utilisation and Marketing Act (TUMA)

TERMINATOR Red is deemed a termite resistant primary element under the:

• Building Code of Australia (BCA) and,
• Australian Standard 3660.1 Termite Management – Part 1: New Building Work

Commercial & residential

TERMINATOR Red is suitable for both residential and commercial construction in accordance with
AS 3660.1 and AS 1604.1

Compatibility with other treated timbers

TERMINATOR Red can be used with other treated timbers including CCA and Blue Pine.

Resealing

When used south of the tropic of Capricorn cut ends of TERMINATOR Red do not need to be resealed for the treatment to remain effective; however it is recommended as good building practice. Resealing is required for re-planning of studs, notching of bottom plate for fixing of bath tub or shower recess. When used north of the tropic of Capricorn TERMINATOR Red needs to be resealed whenever cut or planed.

Environmental certification

TERMINATOR Red is manufactured from 100% Australian plantation pine. Timber is sourced from Australian Forestry Standard and FSC certified forests.

Exposure to elements

TERMINATOR Red retains its efficacy throughout normal construction periods.

Fire rating

TERMINATOR Red has the same allowable uses under the BCA with regard to fire rating as untreated timber.

Fixings and fasteners

TERMINATOR Red is non corrosive to fixings, so no special fixings are required.

Safety

TERMINATOR Red should be handled with the same safety precautions as untreated timber. Gloves should be worn and eyes, nose and throat should be protected from wood dust.

Treatment

TERMINATOR Red is LOSP treated pine framing, treated to an H2 level, making it suitable for internal load bearing applications, above ground. It is approved for use in all areas of Australia.

Identification

The structural grade is printed on every stick of TERMINATOR Red framing timber at 1.2m intervals.
TERMINATOR Red is coloured using a faint red dye for ease of identification and each stick will have an end tag with its treatment level.

Moisture content

Seasoned, kilned dried. Moisture content less than 15%

Structural grading

TERMINATOR Red is available in a variety of structural grades including MGP10, MGP12, MGP15 and F5.

Termite management

A heavy duty sticker is available with the TERMINATOR warranty. Place the sticker in the meter or fuse box for future identification that the house frame has been built with TERMINATOR Red.

Timber species

TERMINATOR Red is manufactured from Australian grown Radiata or Slash Plantation Pine.

Waste disposal

Off-cuts are not classed as hazardous material and can be disposed of as normal landfill waste. Never burn treated timbers. Always consult your local council for further requirements on disposal of treated timbers in your area.

Warranty

TERMINATOR Red is guaranteed to resist termite attack for 25-years.
