OUR PRODUCTS

Carter Holt Harvey claddings are full exterior structural plywood sheets, which can be used for both decorative and bracing purposes. Produced from Pinus radiata veneers and bonded with phenol formaldehyde resin adhesive (WBP marine bond, type A exterior), the finished sheets are H3 LOSP preservative treated to provide long-term protection from decay.

SHADOWclad groove, SHADOWclad texture are decorative sheets with a band-sawn surface (with a groove profile option) for use on residential, commercial and industrial buildings.

SHADOWclad Groove and SHADOWclad Texture are also available already primed with a special powder coating. This is an advanced powder coating process that's been specially developed for substrates prior to top coating. With a noticeably smoother surface, Primed claddings allow for easier top coat application and give you more square-metre coverage per litre of paint. And because the powder priming process significantly reduces the amount of water absorption, you get a drier surface for top coating.

SHADOWclad applications include

  • Decorative exterior cladding.
  • Residential and commercial buildings.
  • Resorts, hotels & townhouses.
  • Stables and agricultural buildings.
  • Premium industrial structures.
  • Light weight prefrabricated homes & work site offices.
  • High impact cladding/lining for public areas.
  • Excellent for soffits and rustic interiors.
  • Meets BCA 2007 standards.

Shadowclad® Groove

The Jensen, The Pagoda & The Atlantique
Lyndhurst, Cranbourne, Tarneit & Caroline Springs

Shadowclad® lightweight wall cladding by Carter Holt Harvey Woodproducts Australia has been chosen for use in the façades of three new Carlisle Homes – The Jensen, The Pagoda and The Atlantique. Display homes can be inspected on location at Lyndhurst, Cranbourne, Tarneit and Caroline Springs.
Selected mainly for its contemporary look, the lightweight nature of Shadowclad offers easy installation and cost effective construction. When compared with other lightweight construction methods, Shadowclad wins hands down, on more than just cost. Installation is completed by the carpenters – no bricklayers, no renderers.
Project home builders, Carlisle Homes’ philosophy is to offer real choice to their Melbourne home buyers – real choice at an affordable price. And every building product used in the construction of each home follows the same philosophy.
Shadowclad is available in a textured or grooved finish, natural or pre-primed (beige) to save on paint and labour costs. Primed Shadowclad improves top-coat application rates to 14 m2 per litre. The Carlisle Homes’ Design Team prefers Shadowclad Groove. “It is an excellent way to change the appearance and texture of a home’s façade.” Shadowclad can also be installed with a proprietary flashing system, making building with the product even easier.

Available from your local timber supplier, Shadowclad is a versatile cladding solution. It doubles as structural bracing, offers good thermal properties, can be used inside or out and requires no special tools to install. It is manufactured from FSC certified, sustainable, radiata pine and is easy to handle.

Carlisle Homes build over 300 homes a year and aim to offer a quality product with no hidden costs. They are so satisfied with Carter Holt Harvey’s service and Shadowclad; they have recently substituted solid timber joists with hySPAN® and hyJOIST® in the joists and bearers of their two storey homes. Now that’s a testament to quality.
